The Pacific AP® Institute offers intensive five day online teacher-training sessions designed to develop and fine tune the skills of both beginning and experienced AP® teachers. All sessions will be conducted by faculty members chosen for their dynamic presentation skills and involvement with the Advanced Placement program. An overall view of the course syllabus will be presented along with extensive discussions of course planning and management. The sessions will also focus on selecting materials and preparing students for the AP® exam. The Institute also offers a unique opportunity for teachers to network with other teachers in their subject areas.

Location- CSU Monterey

The Institute will be held at one of the newest additions to the California State University (CSU) system: CSU at Monterey Bay. The campus is in Seaside, five miles north of the city of Monterey within a mile of Monterey Bay, one of the most picturesque sections of the California coastline. The cities of Monterey and Carmel are minutes away with their many historic and scenic attractions.


The Pacific AP* Institute will conduct its 24th annual APSI, July 12th - 15th, 2022.

Instructional Materials

All subject sessions include College Board AP® event materials including previous exams with rubrics. Instructors will share lesson plans and instructional handouts. Participants are encouraged to share strategies, lesson plans and experiences with their colleagues.

Participants are invited to bring a laptop computer or tablet to enhance their AP learning experience.
