Sensei David Isamu Tamori.
1973 to the Present: Oroville High School, Art Teacher, VAPA Chair and Head Wrestling Coach. My teaching Assignments are: Art I/Art Appreciation, Art II/Graphic Design,
Advanced Art, Advanced Placement Studio Art, and Adult School Ceramics/Sculpture. I’m supervising two student teachers this semester and have mentored over thirty
five others over the years.
I’ve contributed to the standards developed and content for all of the current Art Teacher preparation assessments: National Board Certification of Early Adolescence
through Young Adulthood, PRAXIS and CSET Exams and have been a reader and trainer of readers for all of these exams. I served on the U.S. Department of the Interior,
Junior Duck Stamp Curriculum committee and helped in introducing the fifth standard in our States VAPA framework.
Currently I’m a Collage Board, Advanced Placement Studio Art workshop consultant/presenter and reader of the Advance Placement Studio Art Portfolio and Praxis Exams.
I serve as a member of the University of California Cadre of Visual and Performing Art Experts, Commission on Teacher Credentialing Bias Review Committee, and The
Commission on Accreditation site visitation team. I’m also active as a California Arts Project Staff member since 1988, California Art Education Association member and

Mock reading –Concentration and Breadth from Drawing and 2-D Design Portfolios.
Day Three 8am-4pm
Continuation of 2-D Design Portfolio Best practice
3-Design Portfolio, Breadth, Concentration, Quality. The Scoring Guidelines
3-D Design best practices discussion and Hands on studio work
Review College Board Resources for the AP studio Art Instructor
Grading of Student work and critique model beginning a AP Studio Art Class
Developing Breadth and Concentration ideas for the Drawing. 2-D and 3-D design portfolios
Day Four 8am-
Computer Lab Photographing Student Work and preparing student work.
Digital Submission Process,
Digital best practices discussion, Hands on studio work.
Review of concepts
Mock Reading of Quality Drawing, 2-D Design and 3-D Design
Institute wrap-up and evaluations.
